JA Nazare has developed scientific knowledge on modulation of gut microbiota by using nutritional innovative approaches and the assessment of their metabolic impact on health from a clinical point of view, ranging from standardized stool collection to the metabolic fate of gut microbiota metabolites in blood and exhaled gases measured by mass spectrometry. Moreover, thanks to several relevant international collaborations, the CRNH-RA works on the identification of new relevant biomarkers of the gut microbiota activity (FiberTAG). In addition, she has taking part in the design of relevant questionnaires assessing dietary fiber intake but also new innovative challenge test meals for metabolic phenotyping more particularly for microbiota responses to dietary intervention .
